A few years back I drastically overhauled my lifestyle after a serious conversation with a healthcare provider. He told me in no uncertain terms where I’d be in a few years if I didn’t make changes.
This was the wake up call that I needed. As a result, I first turned to running; however, but that didn’t go so well so I began cycling. Now, I love long distance cycling and I think of myself as a sturdy diesel engine with giant legs and lungs that can pedal for hours.
As of 2018, I’m currently recovering from 2 surgeries. The first was lumbar spinal fusion in mid-2017, and the second was removal of part of my calf muscle in early 2018. No surgery is an “easy fix” — follow along as I recover and try to rebuild what I’ve lost.
